È arrivata la Primavera! 🌱🌸🌦

🇮🇹 La Primavera è arrivata anche a Roma e sul mio terrazzo per ora si è colorato con  pochi muscari azzurri e tulipani. Ma Marzo ci fa ancora i soliti cambi, che la tradizione ha definito pazzie, con raffiche di vento freddo e tre diversi cieli dalla mattina alla sera. 

Rimango sempre estasiata dai colori che questa stagione riserva, delle foto di sentieri di alberi che sembrano nuvole di rosa. 

Sto sperimentando con i brush e le palette di colori digitali, perciò ho pensato di disegnare un'idea di questi magnifici fiori di origine persiana. Sì, ormai nel nostro immaginario europeo i tulipani sono tipici dell'Olanda, ma in realtà la loro origine è assai più esotica. E pensare che c'erano nobili Inglesi che collezionavano questi bulbi e addirittura, ricordo di aver visto degli incredibili vasi ad Hampton Court anni fa: avevano una forma di grandi anfore, ma con dei fori laterali, sparsi lungo tutta la superficie di porcellana; da quei buchi, fiorivano tante tuberose colorate che adornavano gli enormi vasi come fossero cespugli di bulbose. 

Sempre a Londra, ho conosciuto le "cascate per le fate", le fresie profumate e tutti i diversi narcisi. Per sempre il loro ricordo rimane legato a Freddie Mercury che nel video "Slightly Mad" da "Innuendo" dei Queen ci canta che forse 1001 gialli narcisi stanno cercando forse di dirgli qualcosa... come quasi due secoli prima hanno fatto al poeta Romantico William Wordsworth "Daffodils". 

Mi auguro che la Primavera porti la sua luce e i suoi colori pastello per dipingere la felicità. 😀🌈

🇬🇧 Spring has just arrived at Rome too and on my balcony, at the moment, there are fews blue grape hyacinths and purple tulips. March is always moody and crazy as our Italian tradition is used to, with sudden, chill wind blowing and three different sorts of sky, from morning to night. 

I was enthusiastic in front of the colours of this season, looking at the pictures of mall under pink trees, soft as clouds. I am sketching with brush tools and palettes of digital colours, so I was thinking to draw my image of these magnificent flowers from ancient Persia. Well, it is a common place in our mind as Europeans that tulips are typical of the Netherlands, actually, their origin is quite more exotic.

If only I think that commerce of bulbs had become mania: in Great Britain, some British lords began to collect  these flowers and I even remember some funny vases for bulbs, at the Hampton Court palace many years ago: they were as big amphoras with many holes along the surface; from those little "windows", tulips would have been facing out, coloring the vases as a big bush. 

Still in London, I knew other bulbs such as the "fairy falls", "Freesias" and many kinds of daffodils. They would always remind me of Freddie Mercury when in the music video "Slightly Mad", from Innuendo by Queen, used to sing that maybe one thousand and one yellow daffodils began to dance in front of him, and maybe they were trying to tell him someth
ing... As nearly two centuries before, they were inspiring Daffodils to the Romantic poet William Wordsworth.

I wish that Spring may bring up light and pastel colours to paint happiness. 😀🌈
