🇮🇹 È un mazzo fuori dal comune, degno di un Dandy, come Oscar Wilde. I colori complementari sono bellissimi da dipingere in acquarelli e sembrano catturare il colore del sole e l'acqua. Garofani, tulipani e iris creano un insieme che incanta. Perciò ho voluto dipingerli sul mio sketchbook. 

Ho comprato dei garofani verdini, che nel linguaggio dei fiori sono stati usati per simboleggiare i Dandy, divenendo poi bandiera per i gay, proprio per la loro eccentricità. Ho letto che Wilde infilava un garofano verde all'occhiello, essendo un esteta dello stile. 

I colori complementari sono quelli che nello spettro cromatico si trovano opposti: il violetto è complementare del giallo, quindi. Se si includono due colori complementari, si ha in realtà tutti e tre i colori primari davanti e questo crea già armonia, perché il violetto è composto di blu e rosso. Il verde ha puntato l'attenzione sul colore caldo della composizione. 

1. Ho disegnato i fiori con una matita 0.5 mm. 

2. Ho usato i colori a cera per creare dei punti luce e delle venature, per esempio per le iris. La loro impermeabilità evitano che l'acquarello colori quelle parti.

3. Ho poi dipinto con gli acquarelli della #Winsor&Newton, in pasticche, partendo dai toni più leggeri e poi intensificando il colore. Il violetto è composto da blue cobalto e una punta di cremisi. 

4. In fine, ho definito i contorni con delle matite a pastello acquerellabili. 

Certo, rendere la vivacità del mazzo è impossibile con la delicatezza degli acquarelli, ma è bello averli catturati sul foglio.

🇬🇧 It is a bouquet just uncommon, good for a Dandy as Oscar Wilde. Complementary colours are very beautiful to paint with watercolours and they seem to catch the colours of Sun and water. Carnations, tulips and iris are a bunch of charm. Thence, I wanted to paint them on my sketchbook. 

I bought some light green carnations, which mean dandyism and then they became a symbol for gay claim, just for their eccentricity. I read that Wilde used to wear a green carnation in his jacket, as fashionable aesthete. 

Complementary colours are opposite in the chromatic circle: violet is the complementary of yellow. Painting two complementary colours, actually, there are all the three primary colours and this fact makes harmony, because violet is a mix of blue and red. The green puts the note over the warmest color of the composition. 

1. I drew the bunch with pencil 0.5 mm.

2. Some wax pencils are for the highlights and the veining, for example, in the petals of iris. Their waterproof lines don't make the watercolours paint the paper. 

3. I painted with the #Winsor&Newton watercolour pans, starting with the palest shades towards the darkest ones. Violet is made with Blue Cobalt and a bit of Alizarin Crimson Hue. 

4. At the end, I designed the contour with some watercolor pencils. 

It is hard to show the real brightness of this flowers, though, it was exciting to paint them on my sketchbook.
